Leah Turner, JD, M.Ac., L.Ac.
Leah is the founder of Body + Beyond Wellness. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Wellbeing Consultant whose passion is helping others to feel at home and at ease in their bodies.
After practicing law for 10 years, Leah knew that her life's curriculum demanded more of her than what she could achieve as a litigation attorney. She set sail on a new journey toward a more satisfying career and never looked back. In 2007, she discovered Chinese medicine and the time-tested practice of acupuncture.
Dedicated to the dual missions of service and transformation, Leah reminds patients of their innate ability to heal and their capacity to design a fulfilling life. In the treatment room, she offers a unique blend of reason, humor, compassion, and deep listening for the sake of restoring balance. Leah heartily welcomes people from all walks of life into her treatment space, where she employs her specialized training in trauma-informed acupuncture and somatic healing techniques to help patients reach their goals.
Leah earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Virginia; a law degree from The George Washington University; and Master of Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute).
As a Washington, D.C. area native, former corporate attorney, and mother of adult children, Leah can relate to the stories of most of her patients as they navigate the challenges of juggling their full lives with the need for self-care.
Leah has implemented a Pay-From-The-Heart fee structure for follow-up treatments not covered by insurance. In this way, she aligns her fees for service with the personalized, patient-centered care she offers.
